The lost Amazon film in PragueSourced
An early Amazon film disappeared.
Decades later, it surfaced in Prague.
The Brazilian silent film Amazonas, o Maior Rio do Mundo was presumed lost in 1931. In 2023, a digital copy at the Czech Film Archive was identified as the work. It had been catalogued under another title as an American film.
It had not vanished;
it had been filed under another name.
