Too popular for its own tracksSourced

This tram had too many riders.
In 1954, buses replaced it.

The Okoshi tram line in Ichinomiya, Japan, was entirely single-track and could not carry growing numbers of passengers. The road was too narrow for a second track. After a successful bus trial, the line closed in 1954 and bus service took over.

It did not close for lack of riders.
It had too many.
