A trailer saved ScratSourced
Scrat was meant to die early.
The trailer changed his fate.
The acorn-chasing Scrat was initially set to be killed in the opening of Ice Age. Audiences responded well to him in a teaser trailer, so the filmmakers kept him alive and added more scenes.
Audience laughter gave him
a longer life on screen.
