Rival bulls on stageSourced
Red and blue bull associations compete in spectacle
At Brazil’s Parintins Folklore Festival, Garantido in red and white and Caprichoso in blue and white compete through performances. Their productions combine songs, percussion, dancing, costumes and scenery around a bull tradition. The contest is between theatrical productions, rather than fighting animals.
One tradition becomes two rival worlds on stage.
