This burrowing frog also eats below the surface
The purple frog of India’s Western Ghats has a rounded body and pointed snout. It spends much of its life underground and feeds there, mainly on termites. Breeding takes place during the monsoon. Unlike burrowing frogs that emerge to forage, it can obtain meals underground.
Its underground surroundings supply more than shelter.
