Daldøs turns its pieces within a boat-shaped board
Nordic daldøs uses a boat-shaped board with three rows of holes. Its spatula-like pieces initially stand across the rows and are later turned parallel. The orientation communicates a change in state without replacing the piece.
The piece’s direction matters alongside its position.
