Courtship through the groundSourced
This cricket-like insect drums with its abdomen
Jerusalem crickets are neither true crickets nor native to Jerusalem. During courtship, they beat their abdomens against the ground. Vibrations travel through the surface and are detected by sensory organs in their legs.
Neither the name nor the expected song quite fits.
