Male orchid bees store volatile compounds in their legs
Male orchid bees collect volatile compounds from orchids and other sources. Special leg structures transfer the substances from the front legs through the middle legs into storage in the hind legs. A flower visit can collect something other than food.
The cargo can be a smell.
