The film survives, but its sound does notSourced
A 1931 Chinese film survived.
Its soundtrack did not.
Two Stars in the Milky Way used written intertitles for dialogue and separately recorded sound for songs. It is one of the few surviving films from early Chinese cinema, but the soundtrack has been lost.
Its images remain;
its voices are gone.
