A naked festival usually still has a loincloth

Japan’s hadaka matsuri are festivals in which participants wear very little clothing. A fundoshi loincloth is usual, sometimes with a short happi coat. Complete nudity is uncommon despite the striking English translation of the name.

The label can be more dramatic than the outfit.
