A spider raises its colorful abdomen to court a mate
Male peacock spiders in the Australian genus Maratus can raise a colorful abdomen and move their legs in courtship displays. Vibrations accompany the visible performance. Many are only a few millimetres long. The display is elaborate despite its tiny stage.
