A painted homeSourced
Her walls, doors and stove became part of a museum exhibit
Canadian artist Maud Lewis worked in a small home and painted far beyond boards. She decorated walls, doors, breadboxes and even the stove, covering wallpaper with leaves and flowers. After her death, a preservation effort helped save the house. It was restored and installed in the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia.
The home that held her paintings became an artwork itself.
