The last pupils left doll self-portraits in Nagoro

Life-size dolls populate fields and bus shelters in Nagoro, Tokushima, following a project begun by Tsukimi Ayano. The school closed in 2012. Two child dolls in a classroom are self-portraits by its last two pupils, dressed in their own clothes.

The pupils’ presence remained in a different form.
