Houdini also performed a large stage illusion
Harry Houdini made an adult elephant vanish at New York’s Hippodrome. This was a non-escape stage illusion, acquired from magician Charles Morritt. His repertoire extended beyond the escapes for which he is best remembered.
The disappearing subject need not be the escape artist himself.
