One label covers several dancesSourced
Tarantella varies across southern Italy
Tarantella names a group of southern Italian folk dances rather than one uniform form. Regional names include tammurriata in Campania and pizzica in Salento. A broad familiar label is an entrance to different local traditions.
The shared name does not erase the regional forms.
