Square teeth in a fishSourced
A piranha relative is largely a plant eater
Fish known as pacu are related to piranhas but have squarer, straighter teeth and mainly eat plant material. The family resemblance does not mean identical teeth or feeding habits. Their mouth equipment belongs to a different pattern of eating.
Related fish can have markedly different meals.
